Every week on Monday’s I will sit down with Paul Randolph Newell of The Corporate Shift to talk about the real topics that are important in our work lives, love lives, families and society at large.

These are unscripted, uncut and full of real vulnerable moments between Paul and I. So far we’ve addressed self-care, mindfulness, the “man box” and racism root kit. We have plenty more in store from sexuality to spirituality to money to dating and office life.

Tune in regularly to get a taste of what two men who have been living in the world of “men’s work”, coaching, mindfulness, wellness, yoga and mindset work have to say about life’s most challenging topics. We will be using examples form our own lives and the lives of our clients.

Episode 1 is all about self care. Enjoy and please reach out with any feedback you may have.

For many of us, our lives would be a lot better if we learned to be consistent with our self care.

What would be possible in your life if you were to constantly exercise, or meditate, or take days off, or eat healthy delicious food or simply slow down in life?

It sounds like a luxury but I would challenge that and also ask, who are you not present for when you don’t take time to care for yourself?

Who gets less of your love, production, passion, attention and focus when you don’t get your self care handled?

There are people in this world that often feel tired, stressed, distracted and distant. They might maintain health or they might be unwell day to day even when not sick. They listen to the excuses in our culture of “who has time?” and “isn’t that selfish?”. Meanwhile they feel resentful and burn out most of the time.

Then there are people who learn to balance all of the demands of life and show up stronger for their loved ones, their clients, their team members and their communities because they do take care of themselves.

Most of us need coaches to make major changes in life, even simple self care. Isn’t it time to live your biggest and boldest life by taking care of yourself for once.
